Default Ugh... What a mess (light bar delete)

Well, I just went outside and started to remove the light bar. Turns out it isn't going to be as clean as I expected.

Here are some pictures.

So I hope the reason for repainting wasn't to cover up some sort of damage.

I wonder what I could do other than get it repainted... I could leave it on I guess. Fade anyone??

Meh that is so lame...

Doesn't look too bad, only things that you'll be able to see when you get done are the 2 holes on the extremities. The holes in the center where the wires come through are where the license plate bracket mount and the hole in the center will be covered. Someone earlier suggested painting a couple of interior snap clips and just popping them in or else find some nice bolts with nice heads and stick them in there.

Yeah but theres two different coats of paint. Hence the line through the center.

I just left it on. Whatever.

I don't mind the look of mine. Mine says turbo and it still matches the taillights well. If you really want it deleted I don't think it would cost much for a body shop to do that little work.

Nice avatar and sig by the way.

haha thanks man. I like them as well.

Maybe further down the line I'll get a body shop to fix it up.

I have always wondered what that would look like painted black between the tail lights....

I could have sworn I've seen pics of someone with a black center section before... I'll try searching.

Here are three threads with interesting options.

Painting the area black:

Modifying the rear light so only the porsche lettering lights up (looks pimp):

Thanks for the links Bill.

I may consider painting the panel black. I don't know...

Oh, while you're back there, I recomend centering the license plate height.

(on the left column - align license plate)

Mine looks like crap too - but I didn't want to drill holes for the license plate in my new GT bumper!

Do you have plugs in the holes?
