Well, that was a poor idea.

Took the advice that the XR-1 is a good fit for the 944.. then got my gutted cat cut out and replaced with a straight pipe....

I'm embarrassed to drive this thing right now. Way too loud.

Getting a resonator put in on thursday where the cat was I guess..

Anyone have the XR-1 on their NA? How do you like it?

 

Can you post a clip of how loud it is? I'm putting the same setup on my car but haven't heard it without a cat.

With a turbo you are probably ok. I'm just not a ricer and I don't want people to hear me blocks away and then be like.. "Dude, we thought something fast was coming...."

I will get a video clip in a few.

 

I feel ya on not wanting to be too loud. I kinda bought the XR-1 because it was a good deal when I found it. I hope I don't regret it because I've heard awesome things about it.

My 951 has a 3" lindsey system with cat delete and a Borla XR-1.

I pick it up tomorrow, so we'll see how loud it is.

 

i have the LR 3" no cat and a magnaflo- i love the sound- alittle loud nothing terrible- i heard the xr1 is great on the turbo but on an n/a i could see it as being ricey- but thats mainly because the cat is gone.

 

I have been thinking of the LR 3'' with the Hi flow cat. have any of you gotten the MSDS header to or have you stayed with the stock one?

Yeah, thats as loud as mine, my neighbors don't appreciate me very much.

 

Haha, I live out in the woods. That whole road is on my property and not a registered town road.

On the good side, as to not make it sound SO bad, it iis pretty much fine on the highway and at any speed if you're not accelerating. It quiets up pretty good at traveling rpm, but as soon as you hit the gas.. well, you hear it.

 

I have the lindsey 3" with the XR-1 its not that bad and it sounds nice. If you were at the fest you prob heard my car at some point

 

For what it's worth, it's MUCH louder on an N/A. The turbocharger will quiet it down a bit.
