Default I think it's time I introduce myself (and my car)

As of a roughly a week ago, I am officially a 951 owner. I was always a fan of the 944T, but never really planned on owning one myself. About 3 weeks ago, I saw a black 944t on craigslist, listed for $3,500. There were no pictures, but the ad said it had body damage.

I actually quite enjoy doing body work, and the rest of the car was supposedly sound, so i figured i would email him on a fluke and see if he wanted to trade for my car at the time (a 1972 cutlass supreme, pictured below)

Long story short, I drove the car, and well, i just had to have it. So we traded.

Car's history

Its an 86 turbo. LBE, chip set, some german exhaust whose name the owner couldnt recall. The owner put over 9,000 dollars into the car about two years ago. timing belt, clutch, wiring harness, motor mounts, you name it. he then drove it for 6,000 miles, and crashed it. The car hydroplaned and scraped up against a guardrail. the damage is superficial only. It then sat in his yard for about a year. Car has 108,000 miles.

I'm just going to include some pictures, because describing it will do no good.

go here if you want to see them all

Also - the first day i drove it, someone vandalized it in the parking lot. I would have killed someone if I wasn't just going to repaint the whole car. The paint bubbled right off... must have been aircraft remover or something.

Already done - plugs, LR wireset, mintex pads, air filter fuel filter and oil change.
in the next month - body work/repaint, test pipe, LR chips, 3 bar fpr, wastegate shims and guages.

Questions? comments? sorry this was practically an essay.

I'll probably do the front and rear quarter myself, then let someone else paint it. I painted the cutlass myself, and it was a huge bitch of a project. Just out of curiosity, are the dirty old fuchs worth anything? I'm switching back to phone dialers until i can afford something nice. What about the stock beru wires? they were in good condition when i took them off, i just like the look of the blue LR wires.

yes, many people are always trying to get their hands on a set of fuch wheels, regardless of condition as long as they are straight

There are always people on here looking for the Fuchs. Just get a diameter and width dimensions for front and rear, and I'm sure you will find someone who wants them. By-the-book you are supposed to be a member I think to sell/advertise a sale on here.... so I have heard, I'm not trying to be a **** about it, just dont want a new Pcar owner getting yelled at....

Welcome! I'm also in MA. There's a 951 on craiglist NH that's being parted out in case you are looking for a front fender. I bought the driver's door from that car and I have another driver's door that's in OK shape if you want one cheap. Congrats on the car, it looks like it will be great when you're finished...of course these projects are never quite finished are they?!

You don't want those dirty ol' things. Phone dials are much better. I'd be happy to take them off your hands for cheap.

no need to take measurements. They are 951 fuchs and they are literally worthless!

Don't let these jokers fool you, fuchs, especially 951 fuchs, are quite desirable! If they're straight they're worth quite a bit!

haha, thanks for all the replys guys. I dont want to get in trouble for selling the fuchs on here, so I'll probably just become a member. they're perfectly straight, although somewhat pitted. I dont know the actual dimensions of the rims, but the front tires are 225s and the backs are 245s. I'm assuming 16x7 and 16x8? I'd be happy if i got over $500 for them. Are they worth more than that?
