Default AIR bag warning light....

Ok I tried the reset trick according to clarks garage.
That didn't work so I blinked out the trouble codes.....

I got 1 1 1 1 4 1
if I read this right the first blink was the light test.
The second was the number of faults.
The third is the fault table
The fourth is the fault line
The fifth is the column
The sixth is the length of time the fault has occured.
Then the light stays on.

So if I read the table right then I am in the 1st fault table, 1st line, 4th column right?
That appears to be a Warning light broken filiment .
Uhmmmm how can the air bag light blink if the filiment is broken????
Is there another light I am not checking on???
Any advice would be cool....

Inspection coming up and it will fail with the light on....

Thanks JC

if you just need to pass the inspection, is it possible to just pull the fuse?

Naw... not my style...
Besides they would see that the big warning light was still lit as well.
That one they check....

Know what's weird? I did not get an airbag warning light after removing/reinstalling my airbag. The light comes on when the key's turned to ignition, but goes off along with the other idiot lights.

Don't know if unplugging the battery and waiting 30 minutes or so before removing the airbag had anything to do with it.

To turn the light off it usually requires a trip to the deal to turn it off, or someone who has a hammer that can plug in and shut it off.

The hammer is needed on 91's and up. Are you sure the filament they mean is the bulb filament?
Maybe it's an airbag trigger filament, and it might be seeing a bad connection like is commonly found in the clockspring.

See!!! Thats why I love this forum...
I would have not put that together on my own !!!
So I will search the clockspring...
Is that in the bag or behind it in the column?

I thought of that
Just wanted it to work properly light and all ......
I will pull the cluster this weekend maybe and pop out the bulb.....
But then the big Warning light at the top would stay on as well....
so then I pull two bulbs and have no idea when I have some other trouble occuring...

Besides this car is getting paint and going to be for sale (need money for upgrades to one of the other 8 bastards)
I have gone through everything else and wanted this to be "correct"...
Just my style....

Ok... getting fustrated now... pulled the dash cluster and replaced every damn light in there.. even some that were empty.....

Same thing only the light comes on with the engine ... blinks off real quick after 5 seconds... blinks off for a second at 10 seconds and then .... back on...@@@@@

I also get the big "I" warning light and the seatbelt light as well......
Any other ideas???
JC
