poured cleaner in 944S intake access port....

Default poured cleaner in 944S intake access port....

there's an "access port" I'll call it on the top of the intake after the throttle body. I took that off, poured combustion chamber cleaner in, let it sit, ran the car (man it smoked) and now the idle lopes.

huh?

did I drop a seal ring from the cover and have a vacuum leak there?

WTF! need help.

Yeah you would only be on 3 cylinders, i did that when i was cleaning my engine, i didnt plug a wire back up and it ran like crap, plugged it in ran perfect

Double check your vacuum lines and take the car for a good hard run to blow out any remaining gunk and then change your plugs. This should take care of your idle problems.

I just put new plugs in at the beginning of summer...do you think if I removed them and cleaned them with TB cleaner they'd be ok?

How much raw solvent did you pour in before starting the engine? I've always pulled Seafoam though a small vac line 'while' the engine was running to keep from fouling a plug or hydro-locking a cylinder. I've never heard of it done that way with the engine off. It's probably just a wet plug, run the car and see if it burns off.

well...I decided to give the car a hard run...2nd gear up to 5500 (for me, that's really harsh...) and I cruised there for a block or so...presto! Idle fixed, car runs perfect. After cleaning the TB, the idle drop problem with the ISV has cleared up too...likely the gunk was loosened in there when a higher flowing cat was added, now its blown clear after the cleaner disolved it enough to go out the tailpipe!

even if you ran the car around at 6800 rpm all day long it wont hurt anything. In fact I feel like a failure if I dont hit redline everytime I turn the key. 6800 rpm is not the extent of the engine. Its just where it stops making torque. same with the new corvette Z06. redline is 7000 rpm, but to blow it up youd have to run it around 9000 rpm. Dont be afraid to flog it a bit. I always tell myself Im getting rid of carbon build up.

everytime my s2 makes noises, i just drive it harder it eventually heals itself... gotta love german engineering! haha
