Underhood Pad
Hello all, new to the forum, and the 944 world. Just picked up an amazing 86 944 turbo with 90k on it, and an amazing body, all for $1700!! I was looking at pic on here last night and found a lot of people have replaced the hood pad with a silvery liner instead of the black/brown nastly looking OE piece. What are people using?? It looks great and from the pics it does not have any lettering or logos on it like Dynomat would... Thankss in Advance!!

Thanks for all the advice!! Overwhelming!! The car does not run, it warped a head somewhere in Wyoming, and the place the previous owner took it to did not have the tool to set the timing up right, GO FIGURE! So she rented a car dolly and towed it all the way back to North Carolina. Somewhere along the way, the car was moved while in gear, and it bent 4 intake valves. And this is how I recieved it last Friday. I already have the head off, all my parts, and all my gaskets. Should have it on this week!! Then I have to wait for my belt tensioner tool kit to get here to fire it up. In the mean time I'm gonna re-build the oil cooler (seals), and replace my vacuum lines. I can't believe my luck with this car!! Will put pics up when I can. The gold car you see on my profile is it! Thanks again for all the help!

You gonna have it ready in time for the NC Autocross Championship? Right now I am the only 944 signed up...
Good luck. I got my NA for cheap and it swamped me with broken stuff, but it has been fun fixing it (most of the time). Just did the oil cooler seals...you might want to check the cam tower gasket and/or all those little gaskets behind the cam gear. Then the engine might actually hold all of its oil.
