Default 924S sway bar question

I'm planning on giving my 86 turbo sways to a friend with a 924S. His car only has the front sway. Are there mounting holes in the rear on the 924S chassis and is there anything special he would need for connection the front steel control arms. He'll have to buy brackets/bushings, and drop links for the rear. Any downsides to using this 25.8mm(F) and 18mm(R) combo?

the brackets and bushings are different for the front at least. I just picked up a set for another member on Friday with a 924S. Droplinks are the same but the end mounting points and bushings are completely different.

Thanks Michael - I'll go through PET and see what he will need for the conversion. Have you ever driven a 924S with the bigger bars?

The steel control arms use a shackle as the end link. The bushing should be large enough for the ends of the 25.5mm front sway bar. I am pretty sure the 26.8mm front and the 30mm front will require you to bore out the inner diameter of the bushing a little.

All the mounting points for the sway bar were on my '87 924S.

I drove a 924s with a weltmeister rear(22mm I think) and no front sway. This is a 26mm front sway (couldn't get him a M030) for the same 924s. It is spec prepped, so I don't know how good a measure it will be for your friend. If he lets my fat *** in there again, I'll let you know. Genikz????? I think only the 30mm will require modding the bushing for front install on a 924s but sounds like Techno has done it before. Do you want some photos of the ends of the 924s mounting points/bushings?

Check PET to see if the 26.8mm front bar had a different end bushing as the 25.5mm. I am pretty sure it does, but not 100% sure. If it is a different bushing, then you will have to bore out the one for the steel control arm.

our 924s had turbo bars on it- i used the stock endlinks for the steel arms, center links from the turbo bars to fit around the bigger bushings. Torsion has the spot for a rear bar, but you need the bolts, straps, endlinks for the rear- youll have a bolt to pull out thatll be replaced by the bolt for the rear endlinks. Drives awsome.

same ends for 25.5 and 26- all should be the same except the 30mm.

That's exactly what I wanted to hear. For an NA I think the 924S is probably a better platform than the later NA's...lighter, less frills I'll pass this info on to the recipient of my sways.
