Thanks Centerpunch for link, I must have missed that one when I searched, I will need to talk to them hopefully I can create a solid file (I need it water tight for the analysis).
your right bonus12 I don't check this that often this year is proving to be busy (got to keep those customers happy!) so I'm delayed on my little project, I'll keep you informed as and when I make progress.

B-b-bumping this thread...
Anyone have any new models? The one from 3dExport.com is beautiful... but i'm not so sure about the $99.
I just did my first 3d vehicle print. It was very basic and I used a Boxy Land rover.
But I'm eager to try a 944.

Whoa! Tell us more about the 3D printing! What brand is it? Does it do color, or did you paint/color it afterwards?

You upload a 3d model and print it in any of the materials they offer. Generally I believe each different material uses a different process/machine to print.
The land rover I made was printed in "Full Color Sandstone". It uses texture maps but in a very basic way. I've learned since doing the land rover, the next one will look better.

Old thread but does anybody have a 944 model that he/she is willing to share?
I'd like to run some simulations on my car.
End result would be on youtube.
Edit: forgot to mention that I couldn't find any for free on the web.

Your first pic is amazing! (The rest are too extreme for me. :P )
I'd need an STL file at the end.
Edit: So I want a triangulated surface but we can use all professional CAD formats, too.

Off topic but what do you use to upload to GTA V?
If you're willing to share the model I would love to have a go with it in the CFD software I have to do some aero testing. I started a model of my own but haven't had the free time to finish it. I have Maya, Max, and Solidworks so almost any file format would work for me. I would probably need to simplify the model for CFD to run but slimming a model down is easier than building one up from scratch.
PM me if you could send it to me!

I didn't model the stock 944, it was ripped from a Forza 4 model by someone else for GTA IV. I just cleaned it up and converted it to use in GTA V. I also modeled the wheels and other modifications and re textured it with photos from my own car. I used ZModeler 2 to make cars for GTA IV, and ZModeller 3 to make cars for GTA V.
I use Autodesk Inventor to model stuff and then export to 3DS max, and from there I can export to .3ds which I can import into ZModeller and set it up for use in game.
After I bit of messing around I managed to export the stock 944 back into 3ds max and from there I have exported a .stl file for you Ish_944 and a 3ds max file for you RoyaleWithCheese. I could only get it to work by combining the meshes into one whole object, I hope that isn't a problem. Let me know if they work.

The V12 engine I already had from a previous project which I designed and modeled entirely from scratch in Inventor and all the textures were made in Photoshop.
