Default autox pics- how to almost hit the timing equipment

I wish I didn't have so many dramatic autox pics to post. There are plenty of less-exciting, less-incriminating ones, but I wouldn't want to keep the entertainment all to myself. Fast lane change (50+mph) right before the finish. Going for the gold, spun at the end of the second run of the day. Dialed it back a bit and finished 2nd in ES for the weekend.
BTW- the hoosier sticker is for kicks and giggles. Running on yokohoma es100s.

I wasn't the only one who overcooked this, by the way. An mr2 got up on one wheel...

With the MetroNY PCA, they joke if you hit any of the timing equipment, everyone gets to do one run in your car by default. That is impressively sideways though..

Well I did tap one cone with that finish. I have no idea which one, but one none the less. I got a bit faster time at the end of the day.

I beat all the race-tire miatas, but couldn't catch the guy in the race-tire 924s! (He had a nice spin, too).

I'm still waiting for my autocross pics to go online. I had some great drifts going to warm up the tires after the lunch break. I felt due to the lack of 928's that people really needed to see someone go nuts out there.

928s don't go nuts, they go in straight lines.

if you saw some 928's around here you wouldnt say that. Talk about a supercharged s4 w/ slicks that usually gets FTD.

This is the first autox in a while I didn't do any fun spins.. But I just put brand new tires on and I didn't want to wear them out already.

I hit the cone in your first picture with my rear quarter-panel on each of my first 3 runs before dialing it back to finish clean on my fourth. Unfortunately, I dialed it back by 0.9 seconds, which put me in 3rd in AS (but still 1st for the weekend).

That was a great event!

around here if you hit the timing equipment, you're done for the day... that's expensive equipment!

They love to do a hairpin by the end here, but far enough away from the finish that they don't endanger the equipment.

Almost did the same thing two weeks ago Man it's fun but not good for the times

That's the finish box, after this I spun around and kicked all the cones you see on the left....
The timer is just off the image on the right. I didn't touch it.
The only excuse I have is that it was wet

The majority of the difference is accounted for through the tires. Really, it's impossible to compare stree tires to Hoosiers, but I'd guess they're worth 1.5-2 seconds per run.
