Default Problem with exhaust bolts

I thought I'd take a few minutes to let the wound stop bleeding. In my clutch replacement journey I have the transaxle down. The tail pipe and muffler off. I'm having a bugger of a time with the exhaust pipe. This is the 2 flanges where the headers join the pipe. I sprayed the bolts but no movement. After awhile i decided to cut the nuts off. I can't for the life of me get the bolts to come out. Thats with a pointy air chisel too. What am I missing.

can you get them w/ a wrench on top and an impact on the bottom? They get pretty nasty thats for sure.

spray a ton of pb blaster and wait 2 mins. Worked pretty well for me, you might also need a u joint for some of the bolts. I punched myself twice in the mouth when I was trying to remove the bolts on the muffler to cat bolts =S ouch

Isn't that a bitch of a job and I have a lift even. My problem are bolts right up front. BTW the bleeding has almost stopped now.

try using a floor jack to help you break the bolts loose. Helps, oh and grease from the car helps stop the bleeding =) but is a pita to clean off the wound. Wear some gloves.

Thats good! Grease helps stop the bleeding. Haha. Actually I took to wearing nitrile gloves but they just keep my hands clean and do jack when knuckles strike sharp metal. I completely cut the nuts off the exhaust flange but the sucker is bonded. Tomorrow its the torch.

Make sure the rest of the exhaust isn't just hanging down after the bolts, because that weight resting on the bolts will make them insanely hard to move.
