Default best ignition wires vs price! 944

Hi I planning to put a msd system in my 1986 944, 3 months ago I bought set original beru cables!and I used car less 300miles they are new !1 week ago I order the msd box and coil from pelican and same time they recommend a magnecore red wires, i got the magnecore wires yesterday and seems pretty bad quality the end plus dosen't have cover protection attach for spaks like the beru does, honeltly I like better the factory beru looks better quality and seem be same widder!so my question is should msd work wih beru stock wires ?if not what will be a better option ? that will not be that much money and of coourse a option that real give my car better resoults with the msd box and coil?
i will sale the magnecore or send them back they looks cheap!

Magnecore wires are cheaper made than the stock wires. Beru endings are better. If they are the same diameter wire (inside,,, should be listed on the MSD box what diameter they are) then use the stock.

Didn't you already spend like $300 for the Beru? They are the best that I know of. Unless someone makes a race/competition version.

platinum +4 plugs are long life plugs, not performance plugs. Also, Copper is a much better conductor than platinum. Even better than copper is Silver.

Even better than silver is gold- to bad it melts so easily though. I bought some wires from Clewett Engineering for 80 bucks and they are the best set of spark-plug wires Ive ever put on any car, (and Ive used Magnecore and Beru.) They are race engineered wires. Not promoting them - just sharing my experience.

944CS - in another post you mention to open spark gap to .032. At least Im pretty sure it was you! Why so? I couldnt find any Bosch Super plugs down here in Texas - so I used a Nippondenso plug that was nearly identical to the old Bosch's, however I can tell the performance is not quite the same. Perhaps the gap is different? Do you really notice a difference with the changed gap?

Yes I remember posting that. It is the maximum gap specified in the service manual. If you can have a longer spark to start the flame front, why not utilize it? The gain would be minimal, about 1-2% of total horsepower, but with these engines, every little big helps. Also, have you tried arranging the plugs so the open end of the ground electrode is facing the passenger fender?

Copper Plugs > Platinum for the 944. Depends on which Beru Wires you got, they will prolly work just the same. Or go here: Lindsey Racing Wires

Think more towards spending money on Maintenance items, then Proformance Upgrades that are a better cost/power item. Things like Suspension Upgrade or a Chip.

If you really need to burn $300, feel free to send the money to me.

Nology wires with the ground straps should be avoided - if you do the physics it actually results in a voltage drop. The stock Bosch coil the cars came with arent too bad- they produce a good amount of voltage. Lindsey racing wires are basically Magnecores - I dont know what wire ends they use though.

Why would you need a 45000 volt coil? A 14.5:1 compression ratio? 60 psi of boost? Purple Avaition gas? Straight toluene and water? haha jk.
