Default Philly SCCA auto-x pics (no 56k)

Attended my first auto-x yesterday with the SCCA and had a blast. Surprisingly nothing exploded or broke on my car and I didnt get to test my halon extinguisher. The only other Porsche there was a 66 912 and the guy drove the crap out of it. Got some experience, didnt demolish any cones, and didnt spin out. Overall, a pretty good day.

btw: there are more pics in the link in my sig, and just incase anyone was wondering, that neon helmet was a loaner not mine

Bet if you got close to that GT2 with your Angel you could scare the crap out of the driver and force him off the road to clean his window.

And then you'd pass hiim and win.

it was held at the Boeing parking lot, like 10 min from the airport.

thats only at club racing events

Addicting isn't it?
unbelievably. I plan on going to the PCA one in the Meadowlands next week.

just found the results sheet and it turns out I placed 3rd in novice!... and didnt pick up my trophy. I realize it means absolute crap since it was novice class, but you have to start somewhere. Im trying to compress some videos of it from 250 mb to 100mb, but having some trouble, I'll post em when I figure it out.

Nice pics, Ubercooper! Thanks for sharing!

May I suggest a set of M030 sway bars as your next upgrade to make your autocross times MUCH faster! Those pics show quite a lot of body roll.

sorry to disappoint, but I turned 18 on thurs

yea, she's got some roll. I am considering the M030 sways, can I use the 19mm 968 ones or just go with the turbo s ones? There is an ebay auc with them and if they work, I might put in a bid. Also how difficult is the install, I'm not bad with a wrench, but I dont want to get in over my head.
thanks

The front bar is ok in SCCA stock class, but the rear has to stay stock. You can update/backdate within any of the model years of the 8v 944 though, but that also means no turbo bars either.

Does that include the M030 option package for the 89 944 2.7? I could buy the bars from a turbo because the 944 had that as an option package... i think.

Legally you can go with a max of 26.8mm front bar, M030 option for the 944, and a 20 mm rear bar, optional on the 924S, but the 20mm rear bar is much more expensive than the 968 19mm bar. You could go with an 18mm rear bar as well, thats the cheapest option.

Super easy man. You just need the correct size rubber bushings for the droplinks and the a-arm bushing and obviously the matching bar.
Hoist up the car on stands.
Remove body panel.
Your sway bar goes across the car connecting the A-arms.
Six bolts hold the bar to the car.
First four are on the dropliks (13mm i think)
Last two are on the a-arm (15mm i think)
The bar will fall out.
Replace bar.
Reverse directions.
Celebrate by liting a Honda on fire.
