Default Does anyone make a 5x130 to 5x100 wheel adapter?

So i was looking around and came across a very nice set of Enkei rims with good tires on them for an extremely good deal, so being myself and with my car in mind, i figured i'd pick them up and put them on the car until i can save up enough for a set of genuine Porsche twists. Either way, they would be a great replacement for my stock cookie cutter wheels.

Only thing is i found out these rims had an offset of 5x100, the previous owner didn't know the exact offset.

I know just about every company that makes wheel spacers makes 5x100 to 5x130 adapters so VW owners can put Porsche wheels on their cars, but does anyone make an adapter going the opposite direction? Say 5x130 to 5x100?

Just wondering, in the meanwhile i guess these will sit in my garage.

My brother is a VW guy, he says he's never seen 5x130 to 5x100 adapters... Personally I doubt such a thing exists except for custom made.

One option may be to convert your 944 5x130 hubs to early 924 4x100 hubs, then get 4x100 to 5x100 adapters.

Thats an option as well, only thing is, by the time you convert your 944 hubs to 928 hubs then buy the adapters you could buy yourself a second set of wheels.

I've seen people fabricate them themselves from a solid block of aluminum, im wondering if you could go to a metal shop with the exact specs if they would do it for a decent price.

I've seen what you are looking for a while ago. They were a few companies selling adapters that allowed you to bolt up 114.3mm 5bolt wheels onto a porsche hub. The problem is that most wheels out there are a about 30-40mm offset. If you had a late offset Porsche, using these adapters would be pretty much impossible on the stock body as the wheel would stick out too far. An early offset car my have a better chance. These adapters would be probably 1" thick. You also have to make sure that the factory studs have enough clearance on the backside of the wheel.

I don't think it can be done. You might find this of some interest:

The only ones I remember seeing were on Ebay and they were 5x130 to 5x114 (Mustangs, Nissans, Toyotas.......) adapter spacers. The thinnest you were able to get was 1". The one potential issue I see, if you could even find those again, is if you have a latter offset car then adding an entire inch might not even be feasible as the later offsets are already pretty high as is. I'd tend to think you might have issues with outside fender clearance adding a full inch to the hub, but I'm not entirely sure. Adding a 1" adapter to an early offset car should put it close to the later offsets. The nice thing about 5x114 is there are a million wheels and styles out there, and some are relatively inexpensive so it would give you a ton of variety. I just looked on Ebay and I can't find those adapters any more.

That's what I had mentioned, this may only work with early offset cars unless you go with a widebody kit/conversion. I'm sure most off the 911 guys have also heard about the 3" spacers for the 930 wide body kits.

Hehe, I have a 2" spacer on the rear of my Carrera, and it doesn't even have turbo flares! I can't even imagine running some of the ridiculous 3-4" spacers I've seen some people use. Oh well, the way I look at it, it's an excellent excuse for going widebody!

i'm putting these on an 83' 944 so it shouldn't be a problem if the adapter is an inch or so, and the wheels i have are those that have 10 lug holes, 5 with 5x100 spacing and 5 with 5x114.3 lug spacing so either adapter would work.

here's what the rims look like for future reference..

not bad for an $80 find off of craigslist..

if you get redirected to their home page just type "adapter" in the quick search box.

Finally ended up getting some Boxster twists, only after I had given my brand new set of 114.3 rims to my brother for his car, then I came across these..

Well, at least I have some OEM twists on my car now..
