Adapter question
Anybody know if there is such a creature as a 5X130 to 5X112 lug adapter? I've seen them the other way (everybody wants Porsche wheels!). I have found a set of RH wheels with Audi fitment and would like to get them.

Hey Michelle, to my knowledge, there is not an adapter of this sort. THe issue you will have are both the center bore and offset. The reason the the Porsche wheels work on Audi's is because Porsche uses a higher (i.e. et52) and the Audi is a lower offset (i.e. et35). The adapter are generally 20-30mm which will take the Porsche wheel with a 52mm and go to a 37mm. If you tried it the other way around, it would seriously poke out.
The second issue would be the center bores. The Porsche center bore is larger and can be reduced down to the Audi bore but not Vice Versa.
We work with RH Wheels a good bit and I may be able to give you some ideas depending on what wheel it is.

Actually, the offset isn't an issue as I have the early offset: 23. The bore is the problem Here's the wheels:

Looking at the distance of the bolt-holes away from the center cap, this may be a set of the RH 3.6 that someone has adapted to the Audi. The 930 offset is:
Front
Size Offset Finish Bolt Pattern List Price
18 x 8.0 27 Silver w. Polished lip 5 x 130.00
18 x 8.5 21 Silver w. Polished lip 5 x 130.00
Rear
18 x 10.0 15 Silver w. Polished lip 5 x 130.00
18 x 10.0 27 Silver w. Polished lip 5 x 130.00
18 x 11.0 28 Silver w. Polished lip 5 x 130.00
The Audi version is the ZW1 but it uses a different style adapter altogether. The adapter that the ZW line uses is to actually form the hub, so the adapter is actually designed to be counter-sunk into the back of the wheel.

These are 17's. The 3.6 is what I want but I don't have $4K in the budget right now! So the short answer on the ZW1's is "no?"

I looked into the fitments for the older 944's and we have several instances of the dust caps being too large for the center cap hole to clear on the wheels. We rarely see the older cars here and have never had a chance to take detailed profiles. It would be difficult to get the 3.6 wheels to work without having the car here to test-fit. We recently sold a set of th AG-Cups to a 944 owner but the car was a 1988 so it fit well. We could do those wheels with a 15mm spacer that will take it to a 25mm offset for the rear on a 18x10. The front are et52 so a 15mm would take it to a 27mm.
