Hah! I wanted to, but the speedo gear cable was so short that I was barely able to get that one installed! I wonder if there's a longer one?

I put silver rings around mine i bought on eBay..... I love them.

I have also put a lot of work into looking at the following options:

1. installing either an LCD screen like the following:

http://carman.garage.maemo.org/screenshots.html

2. making a custom digital cluster with GPS and LED components

http://www.dsetechnology.co.uk/

and

http://www.dse.com.au/cgi-bin/dse.st...uct/View/K4211

3. Or finally using an off the shelf solution like:

In all honesty porsche have made a nice instrument cluster in black and adding simple silver rings makes all the difference. Personally I dont like the white faces.

Anyone have any thoughts on the above ideas?

Default New to Porsche...

You said that the black gauges with white numerals are from a 924, that is what I would like to do also. Just bought an 84 944. Do you know what year the 924 gauges are? Thanks.

I used gauges from a 924S(1986-88) I found the earlier gauges did not have the correct plugs. The 924S has the black gauges with white letters and red needles, I really liked the look.

Gauges from the 2.0 924s work also, you just have to get really creative with the wiring.

I replaced my integrated instrument cluster with discrete Porsche gauges; Porsche 924S Combination Gauge on the left, Porsche 930 Tachometer in the middle, and with a Porsche 944 Speedometer on the right. (Tachometer shown is not the final version, will have a boost gauge for the supercharger)
