Default NY/NJ/CT/PA anual Thanksgiving Run

Its that time of the year again, the trees are almost bare, the air is brisk and every one is getting ready to put there cars away for the winter. For many of us this will be the last run of the season so lets make it a good one. We had almost 40 cars show up through out the day last year and the run to hawks nest was great. This year I am asking for some help on the route, we have a few options. We can do the bear mountain to hawks nest run again or we can plan a new route. As many of you know I am down in PA at college and cant hunt for roads on the weekend so if any one has some route suggestions please send them to me. Lets make this a great last run!

Date: November 24 2012
Start time: 8:00 AM
Start Location: Rye Beach Pharmacy (across the street from Rye Playland), Rye NY
Route:

1. Meeting Point 1: Rye beach pharmacy parking lot, 8:00 A.M.

2. Leave Rye around 8:30 A.M.

3. Head over the Tappan Zee Bridge and pick up the Palisades PWKY heading north.

4. There is a small strip mall right off exit 13 on the palisades parkway. It should take us about 45 min to get there so lets say around 9:15 at (14 Thiells Mount Ivy Road Pomona, NY 10970). This will be the meeting spot for the people coming from New Jersey.

5. We will then head north to Bear Mountain state park for a drive around those great roads.

6. From the park we will pick up route 17A and head towards Port Jervis NY.

7. We will then meet at Arlene & Tom's Restaurant (265 East main Street Port Jervis NY 12771). This should be around lunch time so we will pull in for an early lunch here.

8. From there we will head down route 97, through the famous hawks nest road and continue on down 97 which is a great drive. We will continue down 97 until people need to head home.

This thread is also posted on Pelican I will update both as often as I can but please check both places for the most recent updates.

Regards
Dave

out. saturday, well wait, dealer might be closed(not likely working for these people).

as for roads, could head west on 84(caught near bear mtn) then down through sussex county, nj and maybe down into warren county, nj(2 counties i knowa lot of back roads in) ending either somewhere with food, or for ease of going home, near rt80. lemme know what you think. if you want more specifics i'll pm them to you

yeah that could work, do you have more of 301 to drive I think people will be up for a full day. Do you know of any restaurants in the area as well, I know a lunch break will be in order.

Dave I just did a run for the CT Porsche Club yesterday 32 Porsche's, we left Stamford and did a 80 mile drive to 301, Bear Mountain and then to a restaurant for lunch, I could alter it to leave from Playland?
let me know, as far as "more of 301" it is only so long but we could hit it in both direction.
