Man that thing sounds good! There was a 968 at my last track event and it sounded great too.
The driver is a little rough around the edges though...really jerky on steering and throttle inputs. Not that I'm a pro...just a simple outside perspective.

Having driven that track sevral times it looks to me as though he's early apexing almost every corner particularly 1 and 6 (I think)
This is resulting in his rear inside tire lifting off the ground and you can hear the resulting wheelspin and loss of traction

This is off topic...but I was wondering if you are a member of the PCA San Diego Region. Your auto-x picture looks like its at Qualcom stadium. I also run with the San Diego Region, I have a 87 black 944 I run in GS but will bumping up to GP since I'm doing a few more modifications to the car handling wise. My car number is (944).
Just curious...
Thanks
Carolyn

Hey Rocket...
If you like open track racing...I also run my 2001 Ford Mustang GT in HPDE with a group called NASA (National Auto Sports Association) I'm sure a lot of Rennlist guys here have heard of NASA. They are also a great group of organized people and put together a great weekend of opentrack racing. They have 944 cup & spec classes which are a lot of fun to watch and they are filled with 944 knowledge. We are going to have to plan on a So. Cal. GTG very soon. Maybe we can plan a cruise through Ortega Hwy into Temecula for lunch or the other way around coming into the Irvine Spectrum for lunch.
I just became a paid Rennlist member tonight...it should start to show up tomorrow I hope.

Carolyn,
Yep, that's Qualcomm stadium in SD. That was my one and only auto-x, but I plan on doing many more. I'll probably run with PCA-OCR though, since it's much closer. I'm not competing for times, just want to hone my skills.
I ran 944-spec, since I have all the suspension mods (except for a upgraded front anti-roll bar, but that's next).
I just ran HPDE at Buttonwillow with NASA (april 14-15). Did you bring the mustang to that event? I was in level 2.

Hey Genikz....
No I didn't make out to the April event. My next event will be in June the 9th & 10th at Buttonwillow. I run the Mustang in HPDE 3 and rent a transponder to keep track of my lap times. When NASA runs clockwise and uses star mazda at Buttonwillow I'm running about a 2:17 lap times with Nitto 555 R2's they are a 100 treadwear.
I was heading home from the huge Ford show at Knott's Berry Farm and stopped by the El Toro Marine base and the OCR had an auto-x there today. I saw only one 944 his car number was 51. The SD region has a lot more 944's that run.
Maybe I'll see you at Buttonwillow in June...of course my car number on the Mustang is (944) lol...I get funny coments from the 944 spec guys about my number on the Mustang.
Take Care,
Carolyn
