Seriously? So... instead of gunning it at the stoplight, you accellerate gradually and say slow your 0-60 by, what, 3 seconds? You're still as fast as the almighty 944! Don't think any 944 NAs will be leaving any Elise at any stop lights any time soon...

A big surprise that you once again have no idea what your talking about. Go drive an Elise before you start making comments about it. Part throttle on that car and you are probably still making equal, if not more power than a 8v n/a 944 ever will at full throttle.

Are we actually comparing a lotus elise to an n/a 944? In a race the 944 would be standing still compared to an elise. They are both completely different cars in every way. V2rocket doesn't know what the hell he is talking about.

Yeah, there was an elise at the last DE I went to. It even kept up on the straight with most other cars, just slightly behind the evil vettes. Suprising for a 1.9L, but it's extremely light and small. Those Lotuses look fun as hell... (I apologize for that last thought, blaspheming against porsche)

Top gear also said it was one of the best handling cars ever

You just cant hate a car like that. Great handling, Good Acceleration, Decent top Speed, and very efficient

Probably less having to do with performance, and more with sound. But that's part of the game, right? Porsche spends alot of time and money not only making their exhausts PERFORM properly but also SOUND like a Porsche!! Form follows function, yes, but just a guess is that the engineers have had to go back to the drawing board on more then one occassion because they were told the exhaust they came up with didn't sound Porsche enough.

Anyway, you can get a nice tone out of a single inlet, dual outlet. Keep in mind the Lotus is a 1.8L rice engine (tuned, of course). But how many Toyotas Celicas do you hear driving around sound that good?

Awesome sound.

Anyway, enough good or bad about the Elise. I think I like the 944 with duals but it would need some sort of split 951 valence back there to really make it work. Plus, if done right (like a Lotus) I bet the split case design would make the 2.5 or 3.0 really sound amazing.

I have been here for some time on another name, and just recently changed to a new name. That being said, I can comment on V2.

But, Being here since january and already 800 posts? Get a life man!

I haven't read a single useful post from his computer...and I don't think I'm alone.

On Topic-

Dual cans only look good on certain cars. I saw and S2K at Imagine Auto's Sring Car Thing with dual cans and it looked sweet. Dual tips or cans on a 944 is not right. I love the look of how the can is up underneath the car with more of just a long straight steel pipe coming out the back. Much more serious and to brass tax...

Have you ever driven an Elise? Or an S2000? Two of the best cars I've driven, by far.

Please dont magazine race, it's bad for your health. However, if you have driven them, maybe you should re-evaluate your 4 cylinder ownership. (FYI, an Elise or an S2k will embarass a 944 NA in every way, including handling and acceleration).
