Default Pics of wrenching last Sat in ATL

Albert, Brad and I were pulling apart the blue 88 turbo that we are parting last Saturday. Got some pics of the progress. That pollen is heavy here this time of year! At the end of the day we pushed the car off the lift and up the hill on an adjustable front wheel base (4x4 post with wheels pinned on each end)

Was wondering where you've been Ryan - that sucks

Mavfan - Yep, we were sort of lagging too. We still have to pull the torque tube and the rear trailing arms. Unbolt the doors and rear hatch and off to the metal recycler.....probably this Saturday.

Is that a 5R gearbox? If so, it is LSD with the cooling loop.

Just curious what kind of clutch disc was in it?

I was wondering who would note that first We were very pleased to figure that out on Saturday. Now Albert has a turbo LSD in his garage and I have one in my garage - all cleaned up nice and pretty of course. Very puzzling though as the car did not have the 220 option code noted and the trans has a matching vin sticker on it. Maybe there was a package code that included the LSD trans? I am not sure what clutch was on the car as we left the motor intact and didn't peer into the bellhousing at all.

Looks like some good times. Always fun to tear apart a car.

You know its strange to see a 'wrenching' picture where all members involved are getting there hands dirty. Usually its just one guys working with everyone standing around drinking beer watching!

when the 5R code appears the 220 and the cooling loop code is typically left off.

Nice find. It is fun taking them apart! Where does this screw go....who cares! Throw it in the box.

Wow, don't see that color too often. Guess mine is even more rare now

What do you plan to do with the sunroof? Is the paint on it in good shape?

Yup - best way to learn about them is to dissect them The sunroof is in good shape but the whole car was re-painted at some time. If you are still interested Mike just let me know.

As long as the new paint matches a sample of whatever original paint is still on the chassis. That car is Azure Blue correct? Dark blue, non-metalic, LY5D paint code, if i recall correctly. Work me a price with shipping to Maryland if so please

Too bad I didn't know about this car earlier. I was in Atlanta for an autox over St. Patty's day weekend

How good is the carpeting? Is it the grey-beige-ish color I think I see?

And how much would the tranny be?
