I plan on getting one for the Jeep too .
Michael, Which cable set did you get. Is the 944 a switched ground or switched output system?

I believe our car is switched output. He wasn't sure, so I went with the switched ground. He shows an easy fix to reverse it if it is not correct http://www.4crawler.com/4x4/CheapTri...s.shtml#SGtoSP. One other thing I noticed, is that the wires are not soldered in like Rennbay's kit. I managed to pull out a wire in my feeding fiasco and have decided to solder the connectors. I got started yesterday, but did not finish it along with other wiring I have got going on. I will try to get it done this week before my Summer family trip.

Sounds good with me. I don't mind going over and resoldering everything to save 90 bucks.

Darren...I hope you don't mind, but this posting was so good, and I was bugged by the way your original pics showed up so dark (for whatever reason). I adjusted the brightness and contrast in Photoshop, and the difference between the different light setups is even more striking...by your leave, sir, if you please...first, no lights...

Then, the DOT-Legal Vision plus, high and low beams...I have to say, although the Vision Plus are some of the best DOT-legal lights I've seen, they still scatter too much for my taste.

Then, with e-codes, low and high...I have a set of e-codes on my 92 Jetta (got the round headlight grille just to switch to e-code) and I will NEVER go back to DOT lighting...the sharper cutoff of the e-code makes use of the higher-wattage lamps possible, a MUST in deer country.

Then with the e-code yellow...(I might have to try a set of these)

And finally, with the e-code Xenons...(I think you might have been parked in a slightly different spot for these shots; the beam appears to be striking a tad high...still great output)

Yep, little dark in some of the photos because it wasn't 1030 at night in summertime so there was still a little light out there. And you're right, the xenon ones were in a slightly different spot because I took those almost a year later. One of my yellow bulbs burnt out, so I tried out the xenons.

Where did you get your lenses from? Are they the ebay ones? They look awfully bluish? Do they have a good pattern?

What did you do with your driving lights?

Do you have to just swap this stuff in or would I have for sure have to realign the headlights?

Thought I'd add a resource to this thread. I used this guys kit in my old 4Runner/off-roader. Great tech info and lots of hard to get lighting products/electrical parts, e.g. Cibie lenses and Narva bulbs.
