Default Euro Spec front bumper...

Ok, I HAVE to get this bumper. I can't express enough how awesome I think the Euro front bumper is. I ran across a video from Holland that shows what appears to be exactly what I want to accomplish (although they went about it the other way). From what I can see, they already had the factory euro bumper, but it looks like they installed the US front spoiler with the fog lamps in it.

This picture is really bad, but it shows what I want to accomplish.

I'm wondering if there is a way for me to modify the spare front bumper that I have. I found these on eBay:

Can I not buy both sides of these, cut some minor holes in the bumper, and install the factory fog lamps, while retaining the lower fog lamps?

I know I'm going to get asked the question... what do you need 4 fog lamps for. I figured I would use the fog lamps in the bumper as driving lights, and have them turn on (with relay) when the ignition is on.

Let me know if this idea is sound to you guys.

Thanks!

You cannot modify a US aluminum bumper. It does not have the correct slant on it. Plus good luck making all the mounting points.

It's the way these cars were meant to look....

I got mine on ebay.uk

You really can't do much with the US bumper because it isn't shaped like the fiberglass euro bumper in cross section. The trim ring will not fit properly. Keep an eye on ebay or 944online will sell you just the bumper for around $300 (IIRC). Then you can buy the more easily shippable parts from the UK. (944online quoted around $700 for everything). Many UK sellers just won't hassle with shipping a bumper to the US - it's right on the limit for Royal Parcel package size, but ask them anyway- tell them it can be done.

mine came w/ the fogs and i sold them and modified the fiberglass bumper - i like the bumper but the rings and the fogs are ugly w/ the factory fogs IMHO.

I'd be interested to know how you did that. It looks great without the trim pieces in your photo but without the trim the light bucket edges don't look very good.

Is the bumper you show in the original post the same as a euro 924 bumper, in size and fitment? I know the little rubber pieces are narrower on a 924S version and early 924 model but the bumper looks identical.

If the bumper is the same, I have one I'd be interested in selling, along with the driving lights that go in it. I've also got the little rubber pieces but they're the narrow ones. Mounts are also included; everything except blinkers, but your US version blinkers fit right in. Only difference is the shape of the lense. The euro lense has a slight angle to it to match the bumper angle. Only matters if you're looking at concourse shows.

Also has headlight washer jets.

Sorry, the euro 924 bumper is not the same as the 944. The problem is where the underside of the bumper meets up with the valence. 924 is different here (the euro PETs shows them as different part numbers). Now would it fit on a US spec 924S? Not sure.

Dan, it looks allright the way you have it with the brake ducts but if you keep the driving lights there is a wide gap between the driving light and blinker light that looks rather unfinished without some trim...

Euro 924 bumper will fit a 924S and looks much better than the US bumper as it sits flush with the front end of the fenders, no gaps. But as Mike said does not fit the 944 front end. As me how i know...
