for the 89 951 factory wheels, forged rims 16x9 rears are a bitch to find...no one makes them anymore...I purchased sp8000 dunlops and had them siped but they performed like crap during our last winter...I probably have the only 951 in the state with a yakima ski rack.

There are no all season tires in the 245 45 16 size. You would have to go with a 245 50, which Toyo and Avon carries. My friend used the Toyo's on his S2 w/ the 7.5/9 design 90's and he was happy with them. Yeah, the rear wheel looks odd with the 50 profile tire, but it's only during the winter.

Was told by Discount that changing the tire size would effect my ABS, did your friend have ABS on the S2?

ABS isnt affected by tire size; ABS is controlled by a computer near your brake pedal, all it does is open and close the brake fluid valve to pulse your brakes rather than squish them to death.

If the front and rear tire diameters are significantly different, the ABS will think something is wrong, and may work incorrectly and/or turn on its warning light.

You should just get some 7" or 8" rear winter wheels and run 225/50-16.

Yep, Nokian WR's, best tire in snow I have ever had. They are "V" speed rated, and have a 420 treadwear rating. I drove at highway speed in 18" of snow in the turbo with them. They are a little spongy on high speed dry cornering.

Yes, 45-50. It was a bit unnerving at times, but felt very stable. We slowed way down for the turns, but never had any issues.

When I stopped for gas, the station didnt have any traffic through it yet, and it was at least 2 feet deep. It was very hard to turn, but starting and stopping were not an issue.

These are hands-down the best tires I have ever had. They are fantastic in the rain as well.
