Default i have a problem, please help

so i was pulling up to a stop light . i pressed the clutch in and it went all the the way to the floor like there wasnt any pressure . i lifted it with my foot and now it will not go any farther than a inch . i took the line from the clutch master cylinder off and the pedal moved . so i know its not the maste cylinder.

i drove it home rpm matching. what does thi mean?
if the car still drives does it mean my trow out brng is still good?

please help , thank you

You have a bad slave cylinder.

The one oddball thing is after he pulled the pedal up he can't depress it further than an inch. I agree that either the master or slave might initially failed but lack of pedal travel would be a mechanical issue like a jammed TO bearing, locked up rod at the MC, jammed slave rod, or broken clutch fork. Doesn't sound good no matter how you look at it.

I doubt the fork would break under normal driving circumstances...I have one in my hand and its a pretty significant piece of aluminum. It wouldnt break too easily.

It's your slave cylinder...and while you're in there replace your master. I did it about 3 months ago and my car feels wonderful now

definately replace the cylinders and the hydraulic line between them...

And, if that doesn't work, then get out your wallet.

Step:
1) Remove wallet from pocket
2) Open wallet
3) Find any credit/ATM cards, along with all bills labeled "Federal Reserve Note"
4) Throw into built-in 944 money-pit
5) Add gasoline and match.

I regret not tackling it myself for the $160 for parts. My total for bringing it to a shop added up to just over $1,000. Its obviously a porsche. I guess I also have less than a year on my clutch.

It's remarkable; the car runs perfectly after every time I do this. Sometimes I do it as preventive maintenance you know...hey, I'm reducing weight by getting rid of those pesky $100s.

That works out to about $300/hour; where did you take it, Trump Porsche? That is absurd unless they charged you $600 in parts...it's a 3.0 hour job even on a 951.

If they can pull the trans, bellhousing, and replace the TO for $250...someone is smoking crack or it's not your your TO. If you get as far as the TO you might as well do a clutch job. Something isn't right with that quote.
