Default Did you drive the 944 this weeekend?

Yesterday, Saturday, the 944 was taken out for a spring tune up.

Leaving NC we drove to WV. This was my second trip to finalize the route for an upcoming PCA Spring Tour. The drive lasted for 11 hours. From NC to WV, a 4.5-hour drive, and back to NC.

This morning, despite the time change, I am still exhausted from yesterday’s route. I’m getting ahead of myself.

As we entered VA on I-77, I shut the V-1 off. Despite the Pop-3 technology that Valentine advertises, I was to going to take the chance that the VA State Patrol would know that I had a radar detector in the car. Better safe than sorry.

Entering VA, no more than 15 miles north on I-77 a revenue collection officer is seen pulling out in front of us. Pulling into his hiding place, in the median between two hills, was another one taking his place. The one ahead of us pulled over a SUV. Ten miles farther north on I-77, another trooper is seen collecting some revenue. As we continue north to WV, we flip in and out of traffic, the 944 is handling like she is glad to be out of winter storage and back on the road again.

The route in WV took us on some roads that were absolutely adrenalin filled. Some of the roads were wide and well paved. Being able to spy oncoming traffic enabled me to straighten out some of the twisties. Some of the roads, with slight inclines, would not allow me to see over the rise. Coming up to an unexpected hill and not knowing what was on the other side, kept the blood pressure up and the heart racing.

While I could blog on, this Porsche experience was a great one.

If you haven’t done an Italian tune up on the 944, now is the time to do it!

I had an Italian tune up today. First time in the P-car for 5 months. The roads are slightly wet due to the snow melting, so there is hardly any traction. Man how I love my car.

Italian tune up scheduled for today. Twisty roads, dry and clear at 60 degrees.

Brian, I'll be in Manassas overnight a week from Tues/ Weds again. I'm on a tight schedule but I'll shoot you a PM. Flying in 3/20 AM and out 3/21 am. Have a drive to and from Front Royal but expect to wrap that up late afternoon on the 19th.
I'll be in touch as soon as I know more.

I do miss the 924S as a daily.. but appreciate it more when I do fire it up now.

Yep -- I just got back from taking my boy out for a walk this morning. It is sunny and mild today in chicago without a trace of salt.

The car seemed REALLY happy to be out of the garage and doing its thing.

Got out as well. Almost put the top down but didn't. I love this S2 and the more I drive it the more I fall in love.

We found some WV roads yesterday that had the posted speed @ 55 mph, and there was no way I could drive these twisties at 55. What a treat, driving at the max capabilities of the driver (note, not the max capabilities of the car) and still being with-in the posted speed limit.

Yep. drove the turbo in the rain for the first time yesterday... basic turbo knowledge... when the roads are wet, DO NOT HIT BOOST!!!! the car goes nowhere, and revvs VERY fast... it's been about a week since the 924S has gotten love, so I"m gonna take her for a spin today.
