Default Rear seat delete idea

Has anybody tried doing a rear seat delete by just replacing the covering of the bottom half of their back seat with carpet? I was thinking it might be a good way to get the sound absorbing qualities of the foam without the work of dynamatting or tearing off the bottom half of the seat, and was curious if anybody has pictures of that. Thanks

I'm having this done right now. My rear seat base is at an upholstery shop, I should have it back shortly. I'll post pictures when its done. When I recarpeted I bought extra carpet to use for the rear seat delete. Unfortunately the upholstery place can't get it to conform to the seat base so they are using a trunk liner material in a matching colour.

I thought about buying the 968 CS/Cabrio cubby's and installing them in my car back when I was considering keeping it as a "street" car (attached).

And as referanced in the thread posted above, there is always the carpet route from the 924 CGT.

Instead I went the more extreme route

That's actually a 968 Cabrio unit. You might PM Boost feen I know he was parting out a few 968's.

There was one guy in england that was thinking of making some, let me see if I can dig up the thread...

You can also do something like KuHL951 did, where he took the solid back of the top section of the seat and removed all the seat stuff, so he now uses the solid back as a liftable cover for the space in the rear seat cubbies (think he has speaker stuff in it so he doesn't open it often, but I don't see why you couldn't).

I have done it. I removed the rear seat halfs completely and put in a 924Carrera GT-S carpet kit. Like the one above. I made mine though as there is no linen carpet set. I will try to post a pic tommorrow
