Jon,
I PMed you about needing a set for my 928.

I do have a question for you guys about bearings. I am having a hard time finding suitable replacements. My 928 came with 6006 ZZ C5 HT51. Is this the same thing you guys have? The ZZ is double shielded which is not a problem. One problem is the the C5 tolerance has not been manufactured in forever, but I have been told that I can use a C3 or C4. I guess the biggest problem is finding this bearing with the high temp grease HT51. Are you guys having the same problem? If not, where are you guys getting these things.

I'm committing to the order, today. Based on the response to this thread, I'm going to order 200 units. I plan to keep 3 sets (12 units) for myself. Currently, there's commitment for ~25 sets, leaving 22 unclaimed. The order will be complete in ~5 weeks.

Jon,

If you are sure that the 928 takes the same size as you are having produced, I'll take one set of 3 bushings. THANKS,

Gary,

For 928 info on the bearings, take a look at Nichol's 928 Tips, under drive train.

Please add my name to the list for 1 set of 4.

Has anyone else settled on the best bearing set yet? I know there have been a couple of threads concerning TT bearings lately but with different opinions on the ideal tolerance required.

Just as an update, there are 20 sets still unclaimed. I submitted the order, so that's all there is.

Jon,

Am I right that the smaller lip on the right in your pic at
https://rennlist.com/forums/928-forum/333069-torque-tube-bushing-15-each-group-buy.html
will grab and locate the inner race of the bearing? Thus making re-insertion of the tube itself an easier job?

If so, please put me down for a set of four.

BTW, once the CNC instructions are on file/tape/cd/hard drive, I'd assume that they could easily (i.e., cheaply) do smaller or larger runs at any time in the future.

You got it, and you're on the list.

I'd have to disagree. For relatively small quantities, I'm sure I'd still be billed by the hour for CNC time. So, if they bill the machine out at $200/hour, and I'm having 4 bushings machined, that's going to be one expensive set of bushings. And FYI, that's about what I was quoted for a set of 4.
