Default Radar detecters

The thread about top speed run got me thinking that I should get at radar detecter. I dont want a cheapo unit, I want the best. So what is the best?

Avoiding the cops is easy at night; just push your light switch to off. Your black car becomes invisible. :P

From what I've heard, in CA, the CHP have a new device that is not detectable with radar/laser detectors. Can anyone else confirm? I can talk to my CHP source tomorrow, I'm supposed to go on a ride along soon and will definitely find out then.

From what I've read, the Valentine 1 is the best...but be prepared to drop 3-400 on it.

I have a cobra and it is definitely not the best. I would get a V1, its supposed to be the best, but it is also one of the most expensive radar detectors. Escorts are good too.

The best:
Valentine One with mounted radar sensors front/rear coupled with a Lidatek laser diffuser front/rear.

V-1 is the best, hansd down. If you would like to save a couple hundred, try the passport escort sieries. i have a 7500 and my dad has the 8500 and they have saved us NUMEROUS times!

Best way to avoid getting caught with a radar gun is to drive FASTER...

.... at Lime Rock, Watkins Glen, Pocono, Summit Point, VIR, or any of the tracks nearest you....

V1. Period.
It will pay for itself. Plus, the software is upgradable so you do not have to keep buying new detectors.

As always, drive safe, not stupid with these things.

If you dance, you will eventually have to pay the fiddler. V1 is the best, but nothing can shield you from being observed and lased.

An Escort Passport 8500 X50 will save you a few bucks compared to the V1 and they almost identical stats. And its also upgradable, like the V1 was mentioned earlier.

V1 for sure! I have experience with the passport 8500 its not in the same league, as Doc Valentine say "once you live with the arrows you cant go back" or whatever I think thats what he says
