Default Valve size question

Does anyone know what size the valve's are in a 944 / 951? Are they the same between the N/A & Turbo 944's?

thanks

Intakes are 45mm, exhaust valves are 40mm. NA and turbo valves are the same size but the turbo has sodium filled valves for better heat dissipation. The NA valves have a 928 part number, could be the same? I'm too lazy to look.

Cool, thanks Kurt

So from 1983 - 1990 all 8V 944's had the same size valve's. Good to know.

So both the intake & exhaust have 928 part numbers on N/A valve's? Does anyone have these part numbers?

Well, almost. The 2.7 motors had 48mm intake valves.

All the other NA cars:
928 105 409 02 Intake valve
928 105 410 04 Exhaust valve

Same exhaust then?

Cool, thanks.

Resurrecting an old thread, it sort of just faded off...

Wondering if the 2.7 heads can be used on the 928 in place of the 8V Euro heads? I came to this thread from another discussing changes needed to use 944 heads on a 928, the mods seem fairly trivial. Has anyone else tried this?

Thanks,

Have you posted your question in the 928 forum?

Ooops. I thought I was in it. I followed a thread from there to this one, didn't notice the forum changed.

Thanks,

Thanks,
If you do come back to this thread..

The 2.7 valves are quite expensive.

I will. As it turns out I just stumbled on one for a (*fairly*) reasonable price. I was planning to use it for a 3.0L S2 Turbo build but then I stumbled *again* and found this thread on fitting them to the 928 S3 (85/86).

Now I'm thinking if I can find another one I might be on to a 928 S3 biturbo...

I should have written that I recently found a 2.7 head not valve.
