Default Presenting my new '86 944 ...

I bought this car from my neighbor earlier this month. He bought it new in 1986. I wasn't really looking for another car, but this one intrigued me due to its pristine condition and relative rarity in this area (Northern California). I immediately put in a good amount of TLC and preventative maintenance like new motor mounts, changing all fluids and belts, changing plugs, inspecting water pump (which has replacement turbo version), converting the AC system to the new refrigerant standard, new wiper blades, oil change (Catrol synthetic), a few minor repairs like the passenger door lock not opening, replacement of hood and hatch struts, and now this car is like new - but 21 years old (someone order some shots, please).

Also, I am probably going to get a new alarm put in and am awaiting the arrival of my new Becker CDR 220 stereo to replace the malfunctioning original Blaupunkt Monterey that's in there now.

Here are some pics ...

Very nice! Where are you located in Norcal? If its near the bay area, we have a group run happening this weekend - you're welcome to come if you want.

thread about the run -> https://rennlist.com/forums/924-931-944-951-968-forum/325918-nor-cal-east-bay-drive-feb-3rd.html

I am located in San Joaquin County. I have made runs two of the past three weekends right through Contra Costa County (where you are located) to attend UC Berkeley basketball games. Fun drive through Highways 12, 160, 242, 24. I saw the thread about your run this weekend, but I think I will be playing golf and watching the Super Bowl this weekend. Thanks for the invite.

Looks great! Just to let you know, you can get a factory stereo harness plug for the 944 from crutchfield so you don't have to cut any of the factory wires when you put in your new headunit.

I bought the Becker from SW Electronics after reading about them from some Rennlist postings. They are sending me a wiring harness to make this happen. Hopefully it's the same one you are describing, and hopefully I can pop this sucker in there tomorrow night with ease.
