89 NA 78k miles, New Parts - FOR SALE! - Quick!!! Now with pictures of new car too.
SOLD!
Only $2,500 plus what I have in receipts for 2006/the last 9,500 miles!!!
Now that is cheap for a car that was never hit.
I just got another S2. so.....
I HAVE TO SELL THE 89 NA OR MY WIFE MAY GET RID OF ME.
I DON'T THINK ANY OTHER WOMAN WILL HAVE ME WITH MY AUTO-ADDICTION!
My NA - 78K miles, ABS, Linnen outside Blue leather/power inside. 10 speakers from factory. Split rear seat with cargo cover. Momo steering wheel. Phone dials with tired pirellis. Also, the S2s D90s with good Dunlops are also for sale.
I found this car for my brother in Sept 04 when he sold his 84 944. The owner was a nice middle aged gent. It was his toy. He sold it to help pay for his daughters wedding. It was an exceptionally clean car with the only defect a dash crack and some clear coat issues. It has the window sticker, tool set, air pump, and almost all maintenance records from day one.
The car was "right" then, and the car is "right" now.
The car was never hit, all paint appears to be original. I bought the car from my brother a few months ago to replace my leased GTO when he bought my S2, and I bought a 951.
Recent maintenance:
Jan 07 Windshield replaced $500 & Coverlay set down correctly
Dec 06 Transmission oil changed $50. Battery replaced $80.
Nov 06 Alignment $100
Oct 06 Belts/Rollers/Motor Mounts, belts, rollers $270 in parts from paragon
Sep 06 Tune up $100 parts
May 06 69,500 miles Clutch/PP/TO etc. $2000 receipt
May -ish 06 Rennbay ball joints. $150 in parts
May 05 Brake pads & Front Rotors (thought it was this summer in other post) May be all 4 rotors and local wrench got the rears local. My brother believes rears were replaced with fronts.
Dec 04 45,700 miles Adjust Timing Belt
Sep 04 Belts/Tune up
March 90 2511 mles Oil & filter. Have most records from new, have window sticker. MSRP 36K.
Bad - clear coat has clear coat issues common to Porsche and Volkswagens of the late 1980s. Car looks great at night and from 5 feet away. leak from rear in process of being diagnosed & cured. Believe it is from the rear quarter window. It should be fixed.
Good - Brand new OEM windshield. Other than the presence of a dash cap the interior is in great shape. Non smoker car.
All body panels are original and have VIN stickers. This is a straight solid NA with the 2.7 motor. but for the recent water leak and multiple nodules on my lungs from 9/11 I would keep this car. I didn't want to spend an additional $5,000 on a different car to drive to the train station.
I can also work a deal with the purchaser for the D90s with Dunlops that are on the S2.
Asking $5,800 OBO. If you are thinking of a NA to drive this is it. Make an offer I want it out of here quick. My neighbors dont want to see my cars parked in front of their house.

The rear carpet it in the garage. It is in perfect shape. I thought pictures of the straightness of the frame etc. is more important than the carpet. It started raining as I was taking the pictures and it was dusk.

Steve,
I want this car gone quick. I am prepared to lose money on it. the buyer is getting a solid straight car that needs just a little TLC. but for the leak I would have been happy driving it my 5k miles a year to the train. I just cannot risk the mildew with my sarcoidosis from 9/11, which if it does turn .....

A year ago today there was a 68 firebird convertible and a gray S2 in the garage, a silver 04 GTO in the driveway. The firebird went and a black 99 miata took its place. then the S2 went and a 951 and NA took its place. Then the GTO went. now I am pretty sure there will be another S2 to replace the NA.
There is a reason I got married for the first time at 38.

If I had the cash, I would buy it - I am running kind of low on 944's right now.......
Then again, I wouldn't know what to do with a working 944, all of the ones I own were purchased inop and then made to work by dad and myself......
