Default Oh, crap...something broke and it looks like bad news.

So I FINALLY get around to replacing the o-rings on the OPRV today. Hopefully this will stop or slow the torrential oil leak the NA has developed. Turned out the thing wasn't even torqued down and both o-rings were missing. So that's why I've been losing a quart every other week...

Anyway, while dealing with the OPRV, I saw a piece of metal laying on the undertray. It's about 1.5 inches long and looks like aluminum with a plastic covering and is obviously one-half of a threaded housing. I was hoping it wasn't from my car and was just some random road debris but not so much.

The second pic shows the area where the mystery object came from, with the bolt still hanging there. It's kinda hard to see exactly what it is...couldn't get a clear line of sight from the top. The picture is taken from the RF wheel well (near the steering arm), looking back. My best guess is that it is somewhere around the motor mount. Does not appear to be suspension related.

Hope someone can help ID this.

Wow...that was a fast reply! Good news to know it isn't a huge catastrophe. I'm kind of impressed that it managed to fracture all the way through...must have started at the bolt hole.

Sorry, next time I'll wait a few days to reply

Anyway, I think that stuff is just pot metal, so I guess it really doesn't surprise me.

I bet someone around here has one for you - for cheap!

Where did you find your o-rings for the OPRV?

Paragon Products. I had to call them because I don't think they list them online. Cheap, too.
