Default Horrific pictures at metal yard, not for faint of heart, DON'T LOOK....

We finished up pulling the last bits off the parts car and took her down to the recycler. I should have gotten a video but instead just have a few still shots. Actually this car should have been sent to the steel pile a long time ago - now it is mostly bondo. In any case we got $37 bucks and some change for 660lbs....

You just back up and this giant arm thing pulls off the car......

That thing had it coming. We can't save them all, but we can part cars like this out and save the rest! (Which is something I'll remember when my time comes.)

ONLY $37?? What the hell. I thought you could get hella money for scrap metal. I guess it depends on the metal then.

Bentham would say that it was necessary for the utility of the rest of the 944 society.

(What, I've been studying Jurisprudence all day for finals!)

Thanks, I'll need it.

20 essay questions. I'm contemplating suicide to avoid taking the test.

Bentham would have said to have it stuffed and put on display at the factory.

This pic was about 3 seconds before impact. See the approaching claw above. I got $80ish for mine, maybe the price of steel is slipping (or mine had more molten crap hanging on it). I hate driving into junkyards, I always seem to pick up something stuck in a tire. Next time I'm going to ask them to come get it out front with a florklift.

From the story, the car got a bunch of leaves up in the exhaust. The driver was on an unpaved road looking at rural property, and was unable to extinguish it. He watched it burn for 15 minutes until the firemen came.
