Default I REALLY need a part, and it has been discontinued! Help!

Just got word from my local shop that orders factory parts for me that some items on my latest list are NLA... but I really need them!

The parts are for the hose that connected the early intake manifold to the aux air valve. I am using an early intake on a late car with an Idle Control Valve, but the early hose is required due to the placement of the connection on the early intake mani.

Part numbers are 944.110.177.01 (U shaped hose) and 944.110.184.01 (90 degree connector). My local dealer is Sunset, and they just called my shop and said these parts are discontinued. I called pelican and paragon last week, everyone says 'special order' from porsche, but once you order it's 'no dice'

The main issue is the hose I need is a different diameter on each end, so I can't just fake it... any ideas? This is the LAST thing keeping me from finishing my motor off... and I have this snazzy powdercoated intake from jesse that REALLY wants to be on my car...

First call to AA was rewarded with yet another "call Porsche for that part".

Just talked to Ian as 75ohm reccommended... looks like there are two parts, 944.110.177.00 and 944.110.177.01. One is for AC, one non-AC. Bummer is that only one is available, and it is a pricey little bugger - $71.50.

This one is gonna be a hard call. This is all just to fit a powdercoated manifold for looks, not functionality. Not even sure if this hose will fit yet, and even if it does I'd have to make a modification anyway to close the extra hole. Might have to just figure out how to make one...

either way, it's a pain just for looks.

I would just buy the two generic hoses and a correctly sized plastic reducer coupler sold at any good auto parts. I'd would grow my own rubber trees before paying $71 for that hose. That's a shame I just gave away 3 of them with the 83 944.

Sounds like you need to fab something. Maybe take and old example(s) to a local autozone or checker and ask for some hoselines. Might be able to find something domestic that is "close enough" to make it fit.

BTW... I just sold my 83 motor with all that stuff. I might have one from my old 84 motor, but 90% chance it is old cracking so it would not be worth installing.

FWIW, this is what I found when I needed to replace the hard brittle hoses on my 951. I know they're different from the NA, but like the others suggested, just go to the auto parts store and find something that's close enough.

I think that is my course of action for sure... at least the only one I can fathom pursuing for such a cause as my current one.

Thanks for the feedback everyone!

I found that the hose on my 944S were NLA but Porsche listed two hoses to replace the old numbers. The two new numbers were available.
