Highest HorsePower N/A 8V 944??
I'm not asking how or why - simply what is the highest hp anyone has actually seen an 8V 944 go? I don't care if it was a dyno queen on the verge of blowing. Just curious.
Yea, I did a search

I'm not building anything (except for putting my 944S back together) I'm just curious, doing some research.

The 944Spec guys on the NASA forums probably have the most 'proof' available as to what kind of power they are making. I have seen 134rwhp as the high end.. and from a few of the threads ive read 125-130rwhp is the average.
I think these are good indications of what a well tuned 'fresh' motor can do.

Hacker, I thought I had seen someone state that aJohn Millage ITS 8v engine could have 185hp. One of the "higher-horsepower" cars is a 83 8v 944 NASA GTS2 racecar, raced by Carl Picelle. I recall hearing "in the 150's" but this is a car that can competitvely win races agingst 968's and 944S2's.

I'm a 16V 928 junkie (rare breed) - since the closest relative to my motors are the 8V 944's. I'm looking around to see what is being done on this side of the fence.

I know this car is pushing far more than any spec car... it's got just about everything that could be done to a NA both chassis and drivetrain... including Motons, Motec, headers, custom intake, oil cooler, fuel cell, lightweight body, red aero tape etc.
It's a well developed car that was raced by Bill(?) Hilton Investments (car owner - far side engine crew in photo) and crewed by Matrix Integrated at the recent ICSCC 8 hours of the cascades enduro here in portland. The car ran well for all 8 hours, came in second in class and sixth overall... overall winner was a GT3 cup car.
Ah what the hell, it's a porsche forum... here's the other 2 p-cars representing in the enduro...
