I have a late DME and AFM on my early car and its a plug and play operation.
you can leave the auxiliary air valve from the early car(adjusts idle when the car is cold). or you could do what I did and replace it with ICV (or ISV) from the late car to control the idle better.
If you need more info on modifying the wiring to take the new ICV let me know.
