Here's the deal, I just bought a Maxtronic box - going to try and setup the MAF properly with it.

That is a MAF from a 96 Contour if the site was correct in labeling it.

That does look like the one I have. Cool thing is I was able to turn it down on the lathe and it fits right into the stock J-boot! Exciting times these are, stay tuned!

Well then I guess you have just opened up another avenue for your machinist skills and getting you closer to another tax bracket! Want to turn mine when I snag one?

So assume I have a meter what else is needed. Senders? I have an A/F meter already and no O2.

You need a Maxtronic box, mine should me in late this week or early next week. I am going to buy a wideband O-2 sensor so that I can work with Russell and develope a chip image to work with the Ford MAF. *IF* it works, I will offer a service to adapt the Ford MAF to the stock J-boot.....

So yeah, when the time comes I will be more than happy to work on yours!

Do you think any other MAFs will work without altering the signal? On ebay theres a whole range of MAFs from Mustangs, Focuses (Foci?) Astro vans etc.... Should I get the largest one to provide the most flow?

NO. if the MAF is too large, the scaling will be too far off.

If this works as well as it should a really good write up with pics would be great. Finally an NA upgrade that really is an upgrade and doesn’t cost an arm and a leg.
