I started this thread to announce and discuss the 944SMAX chips. Having said that, I don't care if you talk about Mustang Cobras or your recipe for opossum casserole...

Just have fun

Regards,
Russell

The S and N/A are 2 different animals. You should feel a difference in the upper RPM range on the S. But YES, this chip is DEFINITELY worth the money. Overall driveability is incredible. The car wants to accelerate ALL the time. you will be incredibly surprised by the throttle response.

That's a pretty strong endorsement...I will buy one, but I will hold you responsible for the result...j/k.

I do agree that they drive differently, especially in the upper rpm's, but I have to say it's not what I expected. Also, unfortunately, my gauge's out right now, so I'm leary to push it.

Just to let you know, all our chips come with the same 30 day money back guarantee. If you don't like the chip, if you think it's ugly, pins aren't shiney enough, car doesn't perform the way you think it should, wife is mad about it, whatever, send it back and we'll give you're money back!

Regards,
Russell

trust me it'll be worth it. The low-end response is 100% better.

Based on these testimonials, I'm eagerly awaiting the S2 chip....

I am calling BS on this... Most 8valve 944 spec cars run 130-135 rwhp. Same drive train losses. Where did the extra 30 hp go? You are showing 8hp over most spec cars.

133 with 15% drivetrain loss = 153hp
Both of these match with the factory raitings so 15% seems reasonable.

So 138 whp = 158 crank hp
141 whp = 162 crank hp These are 26-30 hp below Crank spec of 188 for the S
150 whp = 172
155 whp = 175
Both of these are close to the factory rated 188, but still under.

Using 15% drivetrain loss whp should be stock at 164 hp for the S.

Still the chip showed a 5hp gain on the 16v 2.5L motor. That is pretty nice for a chip, but I am expecting 2-3 hp for the 8valve motor.

I dyno'd 141RWP stock. Next dyno was 150rwhp after SFR exhaust. Then 155 with the chip.

Wow your motor must be sick...

My 8valve car dynoed at 134 whp with a stock paper air filter, stock headers, stock muffler. Only mods were a mystery chip and no cat. Either that you need to change the tranny fluid really badly.

Mine was on a dyno dynamics Dyno as well.

Nope, my motor is tip top. I have a friend of mine whose '87 944S dyno'ed @ 138. I was doing a search for stock dyno charts awhile back and saw 1 @ 140. It seems Porsche just overstated the power.

Also, Campeck did a dyno with a 944S, it was somewhere between 135-140.
