I've got an extra AFM we can put in. I'm out of town at the moment, but will be back next week. Call me at 785-865-3435 next Monday and lets see if we can't beat this thing.

Regards,

You have to run the basic diagnostic tests for fuel, spark and compression.

UPDATE: After how long, I am afraid to look, we applied some starting fluid to the 944 and it started and ran.

Narrows this down to a fuel injection issue I believe -

Earlier tests show the fuel pump works, fuel pumps. Maybe something to trip the injectors -

Maybe the suspect speed or reference sensor??? Tach works, ignition obviously works -

Time to dig the manual out again.

Feeling motivated by Jim Cooper, feel the desire to get the 944 going again ....

Could it be - the passion is returning?

I hope!

Any ideas or suggestions andor encouragement welcomed with wide open arms.

After you get it started, does it run like normal? Maybe the basics of fuel and spark are OK. There is a temp sensor at the front of the head on the intake side. The DME sets the mixture richer for a cold engine based on this device. I tested mine in a pan of water on the stove. The resistance changes with temperature. A new one is about $25.

Are you sure you don't have massive vacuum leak after the AFM?

No massive air leaks - replaced things, like the J-hose, with new parts a while back.

Also, took the DME relay out and checked it, it is also new ...

Thanks!!!!!

Fuel pump is pumping, must be something that triggers the injectors -
