NEW 944SMAX chip
I was lucky enough to test the first 944S MAX chip this evening. I have been wanting to do a MAF conversion on this car for some time now, and Russell took on the task. The first step in the process was to make the performance chip to work in conjunction with the MAF.
This morning around 8AM I did a few things with the stock chip that I could imitate later in the day to see the differences in the performance chip. I did some normal driving I do on a daily basis, a 40MPH-80MPH run, and a 0-100MPH run.
I did my performance chip test around 7pm. I popped out my DME with the stock chip and popped in a spare DME with the 944SMAX chip. Fired the car up, let her get warm and off i drove. Immediately, I noticed a MUCH smoother car. This was the biggest impression of the night. I can't explain in words how smooth the car drove. The other main difference was the throttle response.
My 40-80MPH part throttle run was nice. Much better than stock. Much smoother too.
The 0-100MPH WOT run was GREAT! Normally the car hesitates at WOT, but not this chip. It responded immediately. power came much quicker.
I will be dyno testing the chip for Russell, so he can make any other changes he deems necessary. Then from their, he will have a 944SMAX MAF chip for me to test.
CONCLUSION: On the butt dyno, it felt faster due to the throttle response and smoothness. I am more than happy with the chip.

Also in the works is the 944S2MAX, 944MAX (NA version), 968MAX, and eventually the 911MAX.
In all variants the same template will be followed as with the 951MAX, a 30 day $50.00 discount to Rennlisters then the chips will be available via the reseller network.
So I guess for the next year or two anyway I'll be sitting here with my head buried in this keyboard plugging away at it until everybody that owns a Porsche can have the best performance they can from it...
Regards,
Russell

Actually I have to do some market research before I can answer that, but it will be an aggressive pricing structure. There's a LOT of NA cars out there and I'd rather have my products priced where more people can afford them as opposed to trying to make a lot of money off of each sale. That is our marketing strategy.

HAHA, you never told me you were back. I am trying to find a dyno on this side of the water. If not I'll have to take an extra long lunch sometime later in the week.

I am back, this weekend I am staying up in Richmond, but next weekend is my fall break so I will be home Fri-Tues. If you wanted to hit a Dyno on Mon Oct 16 or Tues Oct 17 I could definitely tag along.
Is the yellow car back yet?

Hey J1NX3D,
At some point I'll be doing chips for anything that has a socketed Motronic ECU. Meaning if it has a Bosch Motronic and a 24 or 28 ping socketed chip between the years 85.5 and 90 I'll be making a chip for it.
When you look at a stock set of timing maps, the EU chips have two things going for them. They are mapped for 'higher' quality fuel (yes, I know there's a bazillion threads on this subject) and they don't run the O2 loop to calibrate A/F numbers. So yes, they tend to run better.
