I have a friend with Audi A4, when he installed a aftermarket chip the chip retailer recommended he switch his air filter from paper stock to a K&N or foam (itg) drop in filter. What do you guys thinks?

I don't notice a difference in starting, but I do notice a huge difference in the idle (idling correctly now!) and its smoothness!
