IMPROVED visor clips!!!
#61
On my way home from the airport yesterday I glanced up, and it looks like Audi use the same clips (I am not surprised). Don't know if that means that there may be a wider range of colors out there.
Oh, the Audi in question is a 2001 A4.

I went to the dealership today to pick them up (they were special ordered onThursday evening) -It seems I missed the Thursday afternoon cutoff for Saturday delivery, so I'll get them Tuesday.
At the dealership I climbed into and inspected the visor clips on the new MkV Jettas, the new GTIs and the new Passats. VW has gone to a wider clip with the MkV range. -I also checked out some MkIIIs and some MkII's... they all use visor clips with the screw holes fore-&-aft instead of left-right, so it seems that only the MkIV VW range (and the B5 Passat) used the pattern-compatible clip. -I know that the A4 was developed in tandem with the B5 Passat, so that probably explains that one. The A3 was based on the Golf MkIV platform, so I bet that the previous generation A3 (the new one is based on the MkV) also used the same clips.
Whats funny is that since the 944/968, VW didn't use that pattern, went back to it for a few years, and has now moved on.
The new MkV clip -while it won't fit our Porsches- uses the same metal spring arrangement as the MkIV clip... just a different (wider) base size, it looks like to me.
looks like they liked the metal clip design enough to keep it. -certainly, I have no complaints about it.

Funny about the cold water on the shifter. The PP short shift kit was very easy to install. Its actually not hard to shift. Probably reduces the throw about 25-30%. I really didnt like the stock 3lb lever and ****, and was replacing a worn out lever and boot anyway.
