I can see the quality engineers at VW scratching their heads: "Did we have a batch of defective sun visor clips? Because suddenly, we are selling lots of replacement parts!"

Do you know if these will fit on early 944s or just the later ones?

I only know that I have a 1989... Do the early ones look like the Porsche black ones in the first 2 pictures? -If so the may well be the same... Otherwise I don't know...

I called up Lindsay VW in Virginia and they quoted me a price of $9.80 a piece (using those part #) and they don't make the black covers, only the other colors. Am I missing something.

I've replaced the origonal clips with the same Porsche clips, and if they don't crumble, they still don't do better at holding up the sagging visor.
Tighten the 3 screws at the pivot point of the visor and that should stop the sagging. It's the 3 screws by the a-pillars.

I'll try the 3 screws and report back.

A different parts department in town (we have 3 VW dealerships in Orlando) just quoted me $12 and $2 for the clip and cover respectively... the part number for the cover is sold in black, but the number should be
"3B0 857 563 B41"... so ending in "B41" instead of "BB41". -The parts guy told me that the last three characters are the color code, so presumably the other colours (beige and grey) should also drop the first 'B'. -He used to work at my local VW place and he knows me too. -I told him what it was really for and he gave his approval.

I wonder if I got quoted wholesale price by accident the first time I called my local dealership...

Hey, PSUice944... -"paging PSUice944"...

-can you get us a definitive answer?

-Anyone else want to yellow-page their local VW dealership and see what the cost and availability of these parts are:

3B0 857 561 BB41
and
3B0 857 563 B41

Cheers!

Keith

I just talked to my local guy. The part #'s are correct and they are black. He would cut me a group price if I buy 30 of them

Bracket.... $5.20
Cap......... $.75

Anyone interested in me doing a group buy and mailing them all out? I figure shipping would be less than $1.20 for all 4 pieces.

PM sent. If I can get 15 people to commit for 1 pair I'm good to go. You found the parts so enjoy your new found fame as VisorGuy.

If people want to add their name here or PM me I'll keep a list going.

I'm in for two sets. With tax and 'estimated shipping' of $1.50 a pair of brackets and caps should be about $14-$14.50. A set (pair) is 2-brackets, 2-caps.

List:
Kuhl951..........2 sets
gregeast........1 set
Mike Markota...2 sets
