Well, I was adressing mostly the smell of gas in the oil, and the fact that the cylinder isn't firing properly. as for the pinging, I thing we should get all 4 on the same page before diagnosing the pinging...
good point. but a stuck open injector will put gas in the oil no matter how good the seals are. but I would give a good chance its rings. but whats the ticking?
Were you going to post a picture of the injectors -- one of your notes made it sound as though one may be bad. Have you tried confirming the resistance of the injectors and/or re-arranging them?
