My car hates me.

I just spent $1500 on shocks, mounts, springs, front and back bumpers, a seal for the passenger side door, window regulator, and other parts that it needed.
And now it spits it all back in my face. I have a pinhole leak in the fuel rail. This car is such a woman... nothing is ever enough.
Not only that, on the way home today (before i noticed the leak of course) my oil pressure light came on... cool right? Now the sender has always been bad (dances and sometimes doesnt work at all) but I figured I would check the oil.
Its severely low and I just put new oil in it less than 1000 miles ago. Also when I started it up the oil lifters (Or just what sounded like the lifters) made a good deal of noise for maybe 15 seconds. Hopefully just becuse it needs more oil.
..... Somebody say something please..... this is depressing as hell....
Thanks

Lol, how about how I bought rennbay fuel lines, the factory elbow line on the fuel rail, injector seals, iceshark battery cable kit, etc all to prevent engine fire and first week driving it my fuel rail starts leaking.
By the way, when you put new oil in you need to put it in up to full, run it about 10 seconds, turn off and check again, it'll be at least at the low mark or below, fill and drive a mile or two... then check AGAIN. I'm assuming that is the problem.. take care of the job the right way. put some oil in.![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
By the way, don't drive the car or run it at all with that leak, which i'm sure you know!

You have to burn an effigy of a corvette in your front yard. Make sure you are way down wind of any fuel vapor.
j/k.
ALWAYS leave 1 thing not fixed. In my case it's the electric antenna.
I cant wat to see what my car will do when I bring home another 944. Luckily it got along OK with the 87 Diamond blue 944.

When your car throws a rod bearing 5 months after a complete head rebuild including new cams due to a cam chain breaking - let me know.

if you know the oil pressure switch is bad and you do nothing about it and drive it low on oil, you can only complain to yourself and probably won't get a lot of sympathy.

I just bought my first porsche as a project car. It is a 1987 944. My first problem is in getting the car started. Sometimes it will start, sometimes it won't. We were told that it has an intermittent spark, but I am not sure what to look at. It has new spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor, distributor button, and new coil. We smell the fuel when we attempt to start it, so it seems to be getting plenty of fuel. With the car in the same spot each time (without having moved it at all) it will start 10 times in a row. Then, for no apparent reason, it will not start the next 10 times. The only constant that I can see is the ignition. Could this be a firing problem stemming from the ignition? I would welcome any and all phone calls regarding this. If it is long distance for you, please call me and I can call you back. My number is 606-524-2287.

My other problem with my new 1987 944 is with a knocking/pinging sound when I start the car. It gets louder when I give it gas. It sounds like it is coming from somewhere around the cylinders or the cams. Is this a common problem? Any ideas?

If I'm not mistaken, you should be adding 5.7 quarts when doing an oil & filter change. How much did you put in when you changed it? I don't think a new fuel rail is terribly expensive.
