there is a bunch of information on this here on the forums, basically it does not increase horse power, but it does make the throttle more 1 to 1. your old one has an arm which inhibits it. easier reving, and just a better feel IMO. i installed it on both my cars and the 944 REALLY responded to it, the 924S not so much. an all round good upgrade for the $

Just posted this on your other thread. Just thought I'd copy/paste since it is more relivent here...
I've got a throttle cam from Weltmiester. It basically takes all the cushion out of the accelerator so the car feels a bit snappier. The long arm on the stock cam makes the throttle pretty soft for the 1st 60% or so & then opens the throttle body full tilt when you depress the peddle past that. The Weltmiester unit is just a circle with no arm so it opens the throttle body at smaller incriments of depression on the accelerator.
For my money, it was a good purchase. The car feels a bit zippier even tho there wasn't really any HP gain. $25 bucks is worth the extra response.
Hope this helps

Would one of those work on an automatic? I nephew drove mine once and said the thought the throttle felt stiff. He's into ricers, but knows his cars. Just wondering if it will work on mine.

would work on auto and like wise. You may want to make sure you have enough adjustment though to take up the slack on the cables though since w/o the cam youll need less cable.
I took my stock throttle cam and just lopped the piece sticking out off making it round. Took about five minutes and was free!

Other than perhaps the angle of your ankle at a particular RPM the advantage of the throttle cam is that it makes it easier to blip the throttle when up and downshifting. This is irrelevant for automatics. Also check and see. The reason there is no cam for 16v cars is that the stock cam is round already, I don't know if that is the case with automatics. There may also be technical reasons not to install on automatics such as the transmission may not respond as quickly.
