Default Lightweight battery

Anyone ever hear of these? Offensive Power batteries, 11.5 pounds. A google search came up empty.

What's wrong with a known quantity like Odyssey?

The Odyssey 680MJ can be found cheaper than this unknown maker and is a known quantity. Search here or on nasaforums and you'll find others using this same battery with high level of satisfaction. This battery is going in my car for sure.

Sorry, I know that does not help your SPECIFIC question. About the 'Offensive Power' batteries I know nothing. However I don't even see a CCA rating on the ad. That's kind of a putoff right there for me.

Good luck!

Edit: I see the rating in small print now... that's awfully high for a pint sizer like that. hmmm....

Nothing's wrong with Odyssey, as I'm familiar with their products. I am simply curious if anyone has heard of this battery, as I haven't.

In fact, I wonder if it's a Braille battery being marketed under a different label. The dimensions are exactly the same as the Braille, and the housing looks identical except for the labeling.

It's actually a little less expensive than the Odyssey, considering it comes with the auto terminals and free shipping.

I've never heard of that one either, but have seen several small batteries over the years. Dynabat used to be another good one.

Oh, I meant to mention there was an article in the newest Excellence where they installed the 680 Odyssey in a 944.

Is it just me, or does the battery in the picture not look like a sealed battery? I think I see a vent cap in one of the other pics, I can't tell coz the pic of it on it's side is so small....

Me thinks we have a private label distributor of Braille batteries. Anyone else see the similarities? (Take off the automotive posts and the labels.) The stated dimensions are exactly the same.

Sure, physically the same, but what about performance? If I can have Braille batteries for ~$100, it'd be a bargain -- but what if it's not as good and turns out to be a cheap knock-off? Plus, these guys don't offer the same warranty as Braille -- I'd rather buy a 'real' Braille until I know for sure what I'm buying.

It would definitely be a bargain if it were in fact the same battery. No way to know for sure I suppose. Same one year warranty.

Looks a lot like the WestCo Miata battery. Very popular battery in certain circles and we used it in our Sentra SE-R race car.

Uh you mean Deka, right? Braille is just a relabled $50 Deka battery. Deka is the manufacturer.

Hmm.... so I wonder what the actual CCA of the battery is? 200 CCA is heck of a lot less than 360 CCA.
