+1 on the wheels. Thems is valuable. And if you have the Fuchs, you might have some other goodies that might sway the decision to restore it.
Find the sticker between the taillights under the back hatch carpet, and post all the numbers. That'll tell you what options the car has...

Stop now before it is too late! I've been down this road before and you are in for a bunch of nasty surprises. You probably have $4K in parts there. Take it apart and sell it for parts. Take the profits and go buy a 944n/a track car that is already prepped. I bought an 86 n/a last year with all safety equipment, a current logbook, and two sets of wheels for $3500. A high quality 944 n/a race car can be had for under $10K. If you want to go wheel to wheel, the n/a is much cheaper to run and the fields are much larger. Not as fast in a straight line as the turbo but everything else is pretty much the same. That's my $.02 and probably about what it is worth.
We all want to save these cars but the values simply don't make it financially feasible.

In case you haven't already done this:
C02 = catalytic converter
I82 = ??? didn't find this
018 = Leather STR Wheel/Raised Hub
158 = Radio "Reno"
418= Body Side Molding
485 = Forged wheels – gold metallic
650 = Electric Sunroof
990= All Cloth Seats

Just two clarifications:
C02 is actually the Country Code for 'Rest of USA,' where C03 = California.
Since your car is an '86, option code 158 is for the Blaupunkt Monterey (in '87 it was Reno)
Good luck!

First things first.... don't do ANYTHING with the car until you KNOW that the car is in your name. I'm a very trusting person, but you NEVER know what could happen. Spending money on a car that isn't yours is just asking for trouble. Get it in your name first, and then worry about fixing it.

Yep. Get the paperwork straight, but then, if you have the time, and are not relying on this for transportation any time soon, it should be a great project. Have fun and do it right!
