Hey everyone,

Gotta love tapping into streaming unprotected wireless

I am in Montepelier, OH and about 545 miles of my about 1150 mile trip is done. Hope to be home late tonight.

The car is running great, besides that pulling to the left problem. At highway speeds it is enough that if I let go of the wheel I could go careening into the wall The tires on the other hand do not look like they are receiving uneven wear. The passenger side tire does have a noticeable negative camber however. I put new tires on the back since it is snowing in MN and dont want to be caught in it with almost bald tires. For reference, Rock did the ball joint, tie rod end, and replaced the whole hub (with bearing) on the passenger side before leaving. Also, the car is without power steering so I am perhaps working a little more to keep her on the road.

All in all it is a great little car and I am very pleased. The trip is going great and thanks everyone for the feedback and help. I prolly wont be on the internet until I get home again so feel free to call me at 612-875-3319 if there are any concerns (like a blizzard with a foot of snow headed toward Chicago and the like.

Thanks again,
James

3-5" in Chicago and it looked much worse up north and no, I am not joking. Best of luck!

I made it home!

In total it took me 20 hours to get from Ashburn, VA home and about $130 dollars in gas (48 gallons) which equates to about 25 miles per gallon. It actually turned out to be cheaper to drive the car back then to fly out there, but definately wasnt faster.

I hit the snowstorm just north of Chicago, but the car handled it great and didnt slow me down much. I was pulled over in WI for speeding doing 73, 74 in a 65 . He let me off with a warning which was a major relief considering the minimum fine is $146 dollars (to be paid on the spot I have heard, but didnt ask).

The car ran great through the whole trip. It does pull hard left which may be due to an alignment problem in the front passenger side. It is in spectacular condition for the price but has its downsides. I plan on taking care of most of it before the fest.

Thanks again for the help everyone.

The state troopers in WI are rather favorable towards any driver with a vehicle resembling the color of cheese

Glad everything went well

Yay! I think that hard pulling to the left problem might be that the tie rod end is attatched a little too far off of the rod.

Wes actually was one of the ones that saw the yellow when it was a big metal tub inside. I dont know if youve seen the newer pics wes, but it actually looked kind of good.

Big improvement from the metal tub of wires you saw before you came to pick me up. BTW- That was a really fun spring break and I loved that whole area. Are you gonna be at the fest this year Wes? I didnt get to stay very long last year when you came

Glad to hear you made it with no problems. And you actually got a warning rather than a ticket! That has to be a good omen...
