Default Is this a eBay scam?

Just got this regarding the auction of my Firebird.

Dear Sir. What an absolutely wonderful Firebird. I'll really like to bid on it. You do however state, that you only want to sell to US and Canada. I live in Denmark, where i run a small automuseeum. I have over the years imported several cars from the US, now totalling more than 170.000$ worth, and I consider myself a serius business partner. I hope you'll reconsider your decision and invite me to bid on your car. Thank you very much. Best regards http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAP...rid=clasicarii

You could contact the guy in Amityville that he bought the $3500 Rolls Royce from. Ebay Auction
Unless he's in on the scam too.

Check the web - see if there is such a museum in Denmark - compare the info you find on the web with what he says...

Even if it isn't a scam, do you think it's worth the effort to ship the car over to Denmark?

Stick to your guns, Tom - sell in the US or Canada.

Could be legit, but the onous is on him to prove it without a doubt.

At least he didnt say his third uncle four times removed has a large oil fortune, and wants to send you a big cheque and get you to send the change...

Don't allow a cashier's check or paypal. Make him send a form of payment that will clear or a bond.

I have sold a chevy dually to Australia and the guy paypaled me without any problems. Just watch out for the "I will send you a cashier's check in excess of the amount of the purchase price..." I actually talked to the guy in person several times after the auction to work out the shipping arrangements. If he western unions you the cash, there are no problems.

There is a museum in Denmark that could be his, but I don't see any US-spec cars.

J,
Thanks for the link.

I just replied to his message with "if you win how will you pay for the item?"
