Default Uh Oh... New parts....

From the turbo forum, but I thought I'd share here since I'm kinda proud of it right now

So I spent the the past few days installing all the new parts I've been amassing. The car is shaping up nicely and I cannot wait to finish the Tec3R install and get this baby fired up and on the track (and dyno!). Here are the pics:

So, here's the list of what I added:

Fabcar Control Arms and Caster blocks (Spherical Bushings)
Late Offset Hubs and Spindles
M030 Front and Rear Sway Bars
Bilstein Escort Cup Coil-overs with helper springs and camber plates
Kokeln Solid Transaxle Mount
Koklen Rear Subframe with torsion delete and new trailing arms (spherical bushings)
Braided stainless brake lines
993TT Brakes on all 4 corners
New Axles
Built transmission (Built by 944 Online) New internals, hardened, quaife
968 Mirrors (still sitting in box)
968 Handles (still sitting in box)
968 Hatch Trim
968 Turbo RS Adjustable wing
Lexan Hatch
Lindsey Stage V Intercooler
Lindsey Hard Pipes with Tial BOV
Speedforce MAP Pipe

I still need to order a new set of wheels for the new offset, I'm probably going to order a set of CCW SP20's with a polished lip and gold centers. I cannot do anything else though till I get the second 951 back and get it sold.

I think that was everythingI still need to install the transaxle, mirrors, and handles, just ran out of time. I'll be doing those in the coming weeks (Hence the post on stripped cheesehead bolts!) Duke you made me jealous! I cannot wait for spring!

Wow. You have been mighty busy.... That's the first time I've seen the torsion bar delete. Is it much lighter than the original torsion assy?

Matt, the other car is dmoffitt's, I've been storing it for him.

Mike, as for the subframe:

This is the perfect solution for you racers. Kokeln offers a complete replacement rear suspension that eliminates the torsion bars and torsion bar housing for all 944s and 968. The kit includes; complete lightweight steel suspension tube, 935-style 6061-T6 adjustable spring plates, solid bushings and solid upper torsion bar mounts. The pivot mounting points of the spring plates have been raised 1-inch effectively lowering the roll center of the rear of the car. This results in easier more predictable turn-in while cornering. The adjustable spring plates are designed to separate toe and camber adjustments for easy alignment changes. When racers are looking to save ounces, the Kokeln Suspension will save you 25 lbs!

Mike,
Nice Job. That's quite a list of mods there. You must have hit the lottery or something. That rear sub-frame looks very interesting. You'll have to post your impressions when it's all up and running. Those SP-20's are going to be a good seller for John. Do you have a weight on them yet? So who ended up with your 17" Classics so I can harrass them?

In my long debate on whether or not to keep my 944 or buy a 951...you make me want to buy a 951 very very badly. Your car has a great stance, super aggressive. I think it has to do with those front tires tucked into the fenders. I would like to do this on my car, but dont want to deal with using the geometry correcting ball joints!

A lister in Seattle ended up with my Classics. I havent ordered the SP20's yet, I'm really not concerned with weight as I'm running them as a street wheel and shouldnt be pushing it that hard anyway where I'll notice a difference. As for the ball joints, I have the dropped spherical ones.

Looks great Mike. Is that a real 968 TS wing or an aftermarket?

Looks great Mike.

I'm interested to hear your opinion of the Kokeln rear subframe after you have everything aligned and get some time spent with it.

I'm curious, are the pins in the Fabcar arms 17mm or 19mm?
